The live album Flight Time, recorded during his 80's tour in Cologne and Stuttgart, showcases the brilliant percussionist in an accompanying band that is characterised by enormous power and dynamism. Guitarist Barry Finnerty, who is probably best known in this country from concerts with the Grenzgänger-Crew Crusaders, stands out from the rest with his multi-facetted style which seamlessly fuses jazz and rock. Don Grolnick has established a good name for himself as a keyboardist in both jazz and rock circles alike. Together with Cobham, the fellow founder of Steps Ahead never slides into banality. With '6 Persimmons? he was successful in crafting a particularly catchy ballad on this album. The warm sound of bassist Tim Landers rounds out the fusion dream-team with wonderful certainty.
